HAVEN POWER OPENS NEW CHELMSFORD OFFICE

Haven Power, specialist supplier of business electricity, opens new Telesales Centre in Springfield, Chelmsford

Haven Power's new Telesales Centre in Springfield, Chelmsford was officially opened by CEO Peter Bennell on 25th February.

Haven Power was set up by a team of ex-Eastern Electricity senior managers in 2006 specifically to provide simple, cost-effective electricity contracts to small for medium-sized business customers. Today, it employs some 200 people from its Business Centre in Ipswich and supplies many thousands of sites throughout the UK, including well known high street names. As part of a major expansion programme, Haven has also recently launched a service for larger industrial and commercial users.

Key to Haven Power's success has been its commitment to personal UK service, and the new Chelmsford office run by manager Aaron Rosier and the team of 50 trained staff will play an important part in growing the customer base in the future.

Every Haven customer has a named contact within the sales or servicing team with a direct telephone number and email address – not only to provide help and advice on the best type of contract for their business but to deal promptly and efficiently with any queries on their account.

Part of the Drax Power Group, Haven Power also actively promotes green energy, offering SMART Metering to improve energy management and reduce costs which can be combined with Haven Green, a contract based on renewable resources.

Drax Power, which operates one of the largest, cleanest power stations in Europe, is playing a vital role in the transition towards a low carbon economy and is committed to meeting the country's energy needs with minimal impact on the environment. Through undertaking the largest steam turbine modernisation project in UK history and operating the largest renewable, biomass co-firing project in the world, Drax is set to reduce its emission of carbon dioxide by over three and a half million tonnes each year.

Drax has also announced its intention to develop a 900MW dedicated biomass-fired generation business through a strategic partnership with Siemens Project Ventures.
