EU Commission to investigate Chinese solar panel imports

The EU Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of solar panels and their key components from China on Thursday 6 September. Industry association Pro Sun lodged a complaint with the Commission at the end of July suggesting the imports were entering the European market at prices below market value. The complaint suggested possible price dumping by the exporting producers and a potential connection to "injury" suffered by the EU solar industry. The Commission will issue its provisional findings within nine months of the initiation of the investigation, and has until December 2013 to impose definitive measures.
