Roc value shows signs of recovery

The latest online auction of Renewables Obligation Certificates (Rocs) showed higher bidding activity and an increase in Roc market value according to the Non-Fossil Purchasing Agency (NFPA) on Tuesday 9 October. Rocs are the main government policy for subsidising large-scale renewable energy in the UK. The NFPA holds regular auctions of renewable electricity and Rocs. The auction saw a total of 10,040 Rocs sold--5,377 CP11 Rocs at an average price of £40.62, and 4,663 CP10 Rocs at an average price of £39.70. The overall average Roc price was £40.19. The auction was specifically requested by sellers following one at the end of September at which 4,182 CP11 Rocs were sold at an average price of £39.50. The next e-Roc monthly auction will be held on 24 October.
