Hendry writes on the low-carbon economy

On Wednesday 17 November DECC published an article written by energy minister Charles Hendry for the Energy Focus Journal. Hendry recognised the need to move to a low-carbon economy but said a number of technologies that are central to supporting the transition had "underlying issues". He concluded that having a balanced energy portfolio comprising both traditional thermal generation and renewables was vital to secure energy supplies for the future.
