ICE plans to bid for EU carbon platforms

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) Futures Europe plans to bid for UK and EU tenders to operate auctioning platforms for Phase 3 of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), newswire Commodities Now reported on Monday 28 February. It follows confirmation last week from the top three emitting nations under the scheme (UK, Germany and Poland) that they would opt-out of participating in an EU-wide auctioning platform from the start of Phase 3 in 2013.
