Rising oil prices set to "eat into consumers' pockets", says CBI

On Friday 25 February Confederation of British Industry (CBI) director-general John Cridland said that high oil prices are, and will continue to be, a "real concern for consumers and businesses". Cridland said that if price rises continue, many companies' input costs will increase and inflationary pressure will be passed through to retail prices, which will "eat into consumers' pockets".
