Green economy set to offer economic opportunities, says Huhne

Speaking to the Centre Forum conference in London on Thursday 3 March, energy and climate change secretary Chris Huhne outlined his vision for the UK's energy future. He said with the ever-increasing price tag for oil the case for getting off the oil hook and "transforming" to a low-carbon economy is clear. The cost of rebuilding our energy infrastructure will take time, he said, but the cost of investing in low-carbon energy and security of supply "pales in comparison" with the costs associated with "dangerous climate change and energy dependency".
