UK to lead European marine energy research

The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) and the UK Energy Research Centre (ERC) announced a joint research project to accelerate development of marine renewables on Tuesday 19 April. The UK ERC will lead the research, along with other European institutions into the medium- and long-term challenges facing the development of marine renewables. It will look in-depth at the availability of marine resources throughout the EU, current and future technologies, deployment and operations, and the environmental and socio-economic impacts of marine renewable energy.
