Government sets out customer protection plans for the Green Deal
Climate change minister Greg Barker set out the Government's plans to ensure consumer protection in the Green Deal on Thursday 2 June. Consumer Protection in the Green Deal outlined a new Green Deal Code which aims to protect customers at every level of interaction with the Green Deal. He announced the establishment of an advice line, and the appointment of the UK Accreditation Service to act as an independent body to ensure rigorous standards for assessors and installers. Barker said it is vital people trust the Green Deal in order to ensure its success and described it as "the biggest home improvement program since the second world war".
