UK needs EfW technologies to meet renewables targets, says Covanta
Energy-from-waste (EfW) company Covanta Energy announced on Friday 3 June that EfW technologies will be critical in helping to meet the UK's renewable energy targets. Company managing director Malcolm Chilton said the UK would need to refocus its energy targets after the impact of the German nuclear moratorium and ageing UK gas fields. He said that, while wind and solar receive "the lion's share" of publicity, EfW technologies can provide reliable renewable energy where other technologies cannot.
