Carbon reporting for all businesses, says CBI

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) announced on Tuesday 5 July that the Government should introduce mandatory carbon reporting for businesses. It said mandatory carbon reporting would help businesses effectively monitor and manage their emissions. The CBI highlighted it would also be a perfect opportunity for the Government to get rid of overlapping schemes so that businesses don't get "bogged down". It cited the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) scheme league table as an example of unnecessary complexity, especially after the removal of the revenue recycling component.
