Ofgem issues eighth consumer bulletin

The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) published its latest consumer bulletin on Tuesday 9 August. The report highlights all of Ofgem's recent consumer work and commented on: British Gas' £2.5mn fine for poor handling of complaints; its progress on the retail market review; and how it is helping business consumers. Ofgem has found, through increased meetings with small and medium sized businesses, that companies are not "getting the best from the energy market". The regulator has provided extra guidance for businesses on how to switch suppliers and on energy supply contracts.
