Green power plants caught in planning delays, says CBI

The Confederation of British Industries (CBI) and unions have called on the Government to clear the backlog of delayed planning applications for energy projects, Businessgreen reported on Saturday 18 December. Figures researched by CBI show there are 37 energy infrastructure projects, "critical" to delivering a sustainable energy mix, which are awaiting a decision. It said new generation "greener" power plants are being "thrown away" by long delays in the planning process and called on ministers to act now and ensure projects get under way.
