Details of Roc banding revealed by government
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) published on Thursday 20 October its consultation on proposed levels of banded support available to renewables projects under the Renewables Obligation (RO) for the period 2013-17.
Under the proposals new dedicated biomass stations would continue to receive 1.5 Renewables Obligation Certificates (Rocs) per MWh in the period 2013-16 and then stations accredited to the RO from April 2016 would receive 1.4Rocs/MWh. Onshore wind will be banded down to 0.9Rocs/MWh and offshore wind will remain at 2Rocs/MWh in 2013-15, then 1.9Rocs/MWh and 1.8Rocs/MWh in 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively. Responses to the consultation are welcomed by 12 January 2012.
