Ex-UN climate chief urges businesses to prepare for low-carbon world

Former UN climate chief Yvo de Boer has told businesses that 2012 is the year to prepare for a low-carbon economy reported newswire Environmental Leader on Friday 6 January. He said businesses received a clear message from international negotiations at Durban that governments are serious about tackling climate change. He said the climate negotiations in Durban clearly show that market-based mechanisms such carbon trading will continue and there will be increasing reporting guidelines for businesses on carbon emissions.
