Energy and climate change secretary Ed Davey has said the UK will meet its carbon emission reduction targets for 2020. He was speaking on the BBC's Today programme ahead of the Clean Energy Ministerial launch on Wednesday 25 April. The Clean Energy Ministerial is a meeting of 23 ministers from countries around the world to discuss the development of low-carbon technologies. Davey said that, despite the country starting from a low base, the UK has been making real progress and is the now the leading market for investing and developing offshore wind technology. Commenting on the Clean Energy Ministerial event Davey said the meeting is "about getting things done" and will accelerate progress on clean energy.
