Carbon Trust sets out benefits of energy-saving scheme

Analysis by the Carbon Trust has suggested that organisations could save 20% on their energy bills if they implement the energy saving measures identified by a new government programme. The Carbon Trust said that the average energy spend of a sample of firms that had complied with the Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) was approximately £1.8mn––meaning they could save around £360,000 by implementing the suggested energy efficiency measures. The Carbon Trust also said that nearly all of the businesses that it had assessed had the scope for improving general energy management practices and behaviours, “which require minimal investment to implement”.
