CMA extends energy investigation timetable
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced on Monday 21 September that it was to extend the timetable for its investigation into the energy markets. Final conclusions from the investigation had been due by the end of the year. Under the new timetable, the CMA is planning to publish its provisional findings next January, with a view to reaching its final decision by the end of next April. In a statement, the organisation said it needed the additional time to consider the “many detailed responses” that it had received from suppliers, consumer groups, government and regulators to the provisional findings that were issued in July.
