CMA pushes back energy market investigation schedule
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced on Wednesday 20 January that it had further pushed back the schedule for its energy market investigation. The authority said that it would now aim to publish its provisional decision on remedies in March––having said last year that it would be seeking to publish them this month. Stakeholders will then have until April to provide responses to the provisional decision, and the final report will be published ahead of the investigation’s statutory deadline on 25 June. The CMA confirmed in September last year that it would extend its investigation by six months, having originally been scheduled to conclude it by last December.
