Government confirms outcome of EDR auction
The department has announced the results of its Electricity Demand Reduction (EDR) Pilot Phase II auction, which was held on Thursday 21 January. 24 organisations across the country have been awarded a total of £4.74mn for 37 projects that will reduce demand for electricity through efficiency schemes at peak times. The weighted average price bid into the auction was £203/kW. The successful organisations will be required to deliver peak capacity savings totalling at least 23,307kW from November to February during either 2016-17 or 2017-18. The funding is subject to state aid approval and the signing of a Participant Agreement.
