Government extends CfD Delivery Years
BEIS confirmed on Tuesday 6 September that it intended to implement an amendment to the contracts for difference (CfD) regulations to extend the Delivery Years through to 2026. Under the existing regulations, it is only possible for the department to run a CfD allocation round and allocate budget for Delivery Years up to the end of March 2020. The government has already said that further CfD funding in the current Parliament will be for projects becoming operational beyond the end of the decade. Respondents to the consultation backed the government’s proposal, though some suggested that Delivery Years for the next allocation round should be limited to 2021-22 and 2022-23.
