Government makes changes to AD support in FiT scheme
The government has responded to its consultation, published last year, on reviewing the future levels of feed-in tariff (FiT) support for anaerobic digestion (AD) and micro-combined heat and power (CHP). Revised AD generation tariffs will be implemented from 1 April, but BEIS has retained the current level of support for micro-CHP. The latter technology will be brought within the £100mn FiT cap from April, and will be allocated a cap of £9.8mn––the government said this would allow the industry to deploy in line with the evidence it provided during the consultation. The government has also introduced six-monthly deployment caps of 5MW.
