Government over a quarter of the way to home insulation target
New figures from BEIS have revealed that 276,000 homes across the country have had insulation measures installed, with support through either the Green Deal or the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), since last May’s General Election. The government has established a target of supporting insulation in 1mn homes between 2015-20 as part of its work on tackling fuel poverty. The figures showed that, overall, around 2mn measures had been installed in 1.6mn homes under ECO and the Green Deal through to the end of July, with the vast majority (96%) of these delivered through ECO. However, ECO installations in July were 19% lower than they had been a month earlier.
