Industry and business groups seek evidence on UK infrastructure needs
A coalition of organisations has issued a nationwide call for evidence that will inform an independent assessment of the UK’s infrastructure needs and how they can be met. The coalition undertaking the “National Needs Assessment” is being chaired by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) president John Armitt, and includes organisations such as National Grid, Pinsent Masons and KPMG. It will be based on evidence gathered during the nationwide consultation and a vast pool of data and analysis. A report will be published in the autumn, setting out a vision for UK infrastructure up to 2050 and a series of interventions that the government and industry will need to make to realise the vision.
