Industry group disappointed by network charging plans

Ofgem’s intention to follow “rushed” recommendations for change to the network charging arrangements rather than undertake a full review could undermine the government’s strategic ambitions, the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) has said. Speaking on Friday 2 December, ADE director Tim Rotheray said that Ofgem’s rejection of concerns about how the changes would impact on supply security was “worrisome”, adding: “Until Ofgem has had the opportunity to undertake a more rigorous, holistic review, which the current process has not allowed, it needs to ensure it protects consumers, security of supply, and investor confidence by taking a cautious approach, including the grandfathering of existing sites.”
