Report on non-domestic gas metering market due early 2016
Energy regulator Ofgem announced on Monday 4 January that a report on the regulator’s review of the non-domestic gas metering market will be published early this year––as opposed to the end of 2015, as originally intended. Back in February 2015, Ofgem announced that a review would look at the provision and management of gas meters in order to assess the state of competition in the metering market and its impact on non-domestic consumer bills and service quality. Since then, the regulator has received 32 responses to its request for information from bodies such as metering service providers, gas suppliers and industry bodies. It has also received market data from Xoserve. Ofgem stated that it was still analysing this wealth of evidence and as such the report could now be expected early this year.
