Scotland must ensure all sectors deliver emissions cuts, say MSPs
Climate change targets across all of Scotland’s sectors should be “equally challenging”, a Holyrood report has said. On Friday 10 March four parliamentary committee delivered their recommendations on the Scottish government’s draft Climate Change Plan, which details Scotland’s approach to cutting its emissions over the next 15 years. Among the concerns raised was the approach taken in tackling emissions across all the sectors: for example, it was noted that transport accounted for 28% of harmful emissions, but it had relatively weak targets compared to other sectors. Further detail was also necessary on how the Scottish government would drive behavioural change, the report said.
