Scottish government consults on RO exemption for energy intensives
The Scottish government has launched a consultation on making energy intensive industries (EII) exempt from the indirect costs of the Renewables Obligation (RO) Scotland. This follows a consultation, announced by DECC on 1 April, on the planned exemption of EII’s from the indirect costs of the RO in England and Wales, and the small-scale feed-in tariff (FiT) scheme in GB. The department noted at the time that “the Scottish government are consulting separately on proposals to implement the exemption in relation to the RO in Scotland” as this is overseen by the Scottish government. Responses are invited by 30 June.
