Scottish Renewables set out general election recommendations
Scottish Renewables launched its manifesto on Thursday 11 May, ahead of the UK general election. The manifesto called for the next UK government to deliver lowest-cost power for households and business by allowing established renewable technologies to bid in the contracts for difference auctions. Scottish Renewables also backed an acceleration in the decarbonisation of heat and transport within an integrated energy system and enabling local communities to benefit from clean growth. Chief Executive, Niall Stuart, said: “Advances in technology and rapid cost reductions mean that our industry can generate further economic and environmental benefit to Scotland and the UK […]”.
