Tax relief the best incentive for business energy efficiency: ACE
The Association for the Conservation of Energy (ACE) has said that tax relief would represent the best mechanism for incentivising investment in business energy efficiency. On Monday 9 November the organisation published its response to the Treasury’s consultation on reforming the business energy efficiency tax landscape. ACE argued that the structure of any incentive would need to be “systemic and not subject to fluctuation resulting from political decisions”. It added that competitive bidding would only incentivise those with very large gains to make, because for all others the transaction costs would be too high.
