Energy Storage

Lower costs, the potential for increased revenue, and greater resilience: the benefits of storing energy.

Why use energy storage?

The UK energy market is moving towards a low carbon system that will transform the traditional model of generators and consumers, and see the rise of “prosumers” (producers/consumers combined). Adapting to these changes can, with the help of energy storage, protect your organisation against increasing uncertainty about future delivery charges.

Battery storage can help you make the most of renewable, yet intermittent, power sources such as wind and solar, while minimising your environmental impact and maximising energy efficiency.

What are the benefits?

    Save money

Energy storage gives you the flexibility to shift your usage to times when electricity costs less. Load-shifting in this way means using the energy in your battery to reduce your demand on the grid at expensive times (e.g. winter evenings).

    Develop new revenue streams

If you're part of Haven Power's Supplier Balancing Scheme, we'll pay you to make your capacity available to us when energy prices are high. We can also provide you with access to industry programmes run by National Grid that offer similar financial benefits for making your stored energy available to the UK network.

    Improve resilience

If you want to decrease your dependence on the grid and reduce your risk of supply disruption, energy storage could be a viable option. It has the potential to diminish the disruption to your own business while also limiting the inconvenience to your customers.

How to get energy storage?

The first step is for us to get together and have a discussion to help put together your application. Once we have this information we’ll be able to prepare a quote for you. To minimise the disruption to your business, we’ll book an initial site visit after receiving your signed contract then prepare the network company application. This application can take up to 65 working days to come back - in the meantime, we’ll work to this installation timeline:
