Around 40 consultants from all over the country gathered at Drax for a day of talks designed to help make the energy purchasing process as straightforward as possible – for both them and their clients.
Different members of the Haven team presented sessions on the wholesale energy market, regulatory change and our customer service process, from procurement through to billing. The delegates were also treated to a talk by Robert Buckley of energy consultancy Cornwall Energy, which covered wider industry topics such as Electricity Market Reform (EMR), Retail Market Reform (RMR) and Ofgem proposals for regulating non-domestic TPIs. He went into detail about certain pertinent areas of the RMR such as renewals and rollovers to ensure the TPIs were fully aware of the changes and can therefore inform customers accurately.
Adrian Glasgow, SME consultant channel manager, commented: “Many businesses use TPIs to purchase their electricity so it’s important that they have all the tools they need to provide their clients with the best options available. The more consultants are informed about the wider energy industry – as well as the services we offer – the more smooth the process is for the customer.“
