Third Party Costs and Taxes

Third party or non-energy charges can form up to 50 percent of your bill. With this in mind, we feel it’s incredibly important to make you aware of them and how increases in these costs may affect your bill.

These costs break down as the following:

  • The Government’s Feed-in Tariff scheme (FiT) and Renewables Obligation (RO)
  • Transmission Network Use of System (TNUoS), Balancing Services Use of System (BSUoS) and Distribution Use of System (DUoS) charges – transmission and distribution costs charged by the National Grid and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)
  • They also include an increase in Climate Change Levy (CCL) tax, as specified by HM Revenue and Customs annually, which is rising from 0.559 p/kWh to 0.568 p/kWh from 1st April 2017
