I&C consultants: The Haven Conference 2014

We recently held our annual conference for I&C consultants at Drax’s Sports and Social Club, adjacent to the Drax power station. This year’s conference built on last year’s success and was testament to our on-going commitment to work closely with I&C consultants, with a view to providing them with the tools they need to effectively service their customers.
The conference explored what the future holds in terms of a more competitive, low carbon and secure electricity market. It featured a panel discussion with representatives including Jim Cardwell, head of regulation and strategy from Northern Power Grid, Nigel Cornwall, MD of Cornwall Energy, Jonathan Brearly, consultant, Richard Warren, senior energy and environment policy advisor for EEF and Haven’s very own CEO, Peter Bennell.
Additionally, Maxine Frerk from Ofgem also presented a talk on proposals for regulating non-domestic TPIs and we were joined by TV producer, presenter and journalist Jon Bentley who concluded the conference with a glimpse of what the future of technology holds.
As usual, the conference provided a great opportunity for consultants to meet and network with Haven staff – not just their account managers but representatives from other parts of Haven’s business too – as well the chance to catch up with contacts within the industry. Many consultants were also treated to a tour of the Drax power station which always proves to be very popular.
Feedback from those in attendance has been very positive and we’re looking forward to planning our next conference already. Thanks to those who came this year and if you weren’t able to make it this time around, we hope to see you next time.
