Haven Power names Eden-Rose Coppice Trust as ‘Charity of the Year’
Haven Power has named Suffolk-based Eden-Rose Coppice Trust as its ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2017.
Eden-Rose is a specialist community conservation charity that restores neglected woodland environments for use by children and adults with life limiting illnesses, disabilities or other additional needs.
Haven Power employees – who have been volunteering at Eden-Rose’s Ipswich-based project, Brickmakers’ Wood since April last year – vote for the charity they want to support each year, with Eden-Rose topping the bill for 2017.
Neil Issacson, COO at Haven Power, commented:
“We are delighted to name the Eden-Rose Coppice Trust as our Charity of the Year. Our employees are extremely passionate about giving back to the community and this charity is close to our hearts given our volunteering efforts over the past few months.”
“The work Eden-Rose does is incredibly inspiring and has a lasting impact on the community. We look forward to raising money for the charity in addition to our continued volunteering efforts.”
Jo Brooks, Brickmakers’ Wood Manager, said:
“Haven Power’s contribution to restoring the Brickmakers’ site over recent months has been invaluable and to be named as their Charity of the Year is truly heart-warming.”
“Haven volunteers have become part of our family and it’s lovely see people sharing our passion for creating a haven of tranquillity for wildlife and the local community. The money raised will significantly aid us in this restoration project.”
The fundraising target for 2017 has been set at £8,500 as Haven ambitiously looks to improve upon the £8,000 raised for Ipswich Hospital Children’s Ward, their Charity of the Year for 2016.
Haven has also extended its volunteering programme until December 2017 and plans to send another 120 volunteers to contribute to the restoration of Brickmakers’ Wood.Submit Contact Form
