Smart meter campaign plans to engage business customers

Smart Energy GB opened a consultation on Monday 8 June on its proposed approach to supporting microbusiness customers during the smart meter roll-out. The organisation said that, where it was cost-effective to do so, it would seek to extend its domestic customer communications to the microbusiness sector––beyond this, its activity would be targeted at those businesses that have a separate business premises, rather than the 52.5% that work from a domestic property. The consultation seeks view on the factors that will most likely motivate microbusinesses to install smart meters, and any obstacles to the roll-out. Reponses are invited until 17 July.
